This next phrase is going to be different
than the other 2. For one it's going to be 3 bars in length.
We're going to use 3 new melodic words. The phrase we're using
is the following:
Something that I - could have had
Now I'm sad
This phrase we'll break up the syllables into
4+3+3
Something that I - 4 ___ Could have had -
3 ____ Now I'm sad - 3
Spoken
example
For the first new melodic word we're going
to use a 1st inversion, 4 note chord with a scale segment
at the end
4
Note Chord - Something that I
Now what we do different here is we're going
to have the the last note of the scale segment of the 4 note
chord, become the first note of the next chord. When it does
that, it becomes a color note, E going to F of the F chord
and the F goes down to the A, the chord notes, a minor 6th.
E-F-A becomes a melodic word, creating a sequence that we'll
continue with the next 3 notes. The next 3 notes D-E-G, the
D is a color note to the E and the goes down to the G, a major
6th, the chord notes.
E-F-A
melodic word _____ D-E-G
melodic word
E-F-A goes with "could have had. D-E-G
goes with "now I'm sad"
